Teacher, Meng Hong, attending teacher training in Phnom Penh this week.

Teacher, Meng Hong, at the Hironaka School, Cambodia

From August 5 to 9, World Assistance for Cambodia is conducting a professional development workshop to improve the skills of their English and computer teachers.  The workshop will be held at the Learning Center of the Bright Future Kids Home in Kandal.  This year they welcome Jared Johnson, a teacher from the Tokyo International School, who is one of the instructors at this workshop. The training is focusing on teaching strategies, report writing, technology and computer skills as well as improving the teachers’ own English skills.  The workshop is also providing an excellent opportunity for teachers working in different areas of Cambodia to get to know each other and share their experiences.

The cost to support one teacher to attend this workshop is $200.  This includes transportation, accommodation and meals and all learning materials.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Meng Hong is currently attending this workshop.
